Experienced Bike Mechanic — Seasonal full time position; March through September

We are currently looking for a friendly experienced mechanic for our summer season. Seeking a hard-working individual who takes pride in their own work, has attention to detail and strong customer service skills.

Job requirements, but not limited to:

  • Ability to work on all types of bikes (road, mountain, hybrid, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate with customers about bikes, accessories and repairs, must be able to explain work needed or work done on bikes.
  • Greet customer promptly on entering store and help with all needs on the sales floor.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work space

Cycle Alaska is a full-service bike shop and Tour Company, our bike shop is open year-round and our tours run May through September. Our mechanics not only work on customer’s bikes, we also have a fleet of rentals and tour bikes that need maintenance all summer long.

Compensation and benefits include:

40 hours a week, some overtime required during peak season

Discount on accessories and bike brands Trek & Kona

Plus, other discounts and offerings through the tour Industry in Juneau

Hourly wages based on experience

Tour Driver Guides — Seasonal full and part time positions; May through September

Cycle Alaska is hiring Driver Guides for our 2017 summer season. Looking for friendly and energetic people who enjoy working outdoors to share the beauty of Juneau with our Guests. As a Driver Guide you will get the opportunity to communicate directly with guests, share information on the surrounding area while being outside and be a part of a great team here at Cycle Alaska!

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • First and foremost, upholding our Tour Mission; “We create great memories for our guests”.
  • Safely drive 15 passenger vans with a bike trailer
  • Ensure a safe, fun and timely tour
  • Engage with guests, provide a fun and informational tour talk and be attentive to the guests needs throughout the tour
  • Give a safety talk and instructions on bike use before each tour
  • Provide assistance along bike route with crossings, scenic stops and any bike issues
  • Sometimes you will be biking as a guide!

Must have at least six years driving experience and a clear record for three years prior. Must be able to load and unload bikes from a trailer, can ride a bike for nine miles and be a team player.

Tour Guide — Seasonal full and part time positions; May through September

Cycle Alaska is hiring Guides for our 2017 summer season. Looking for friendly and energetic person who enjoys working outdoors to share the beauty of Juneau with our Guests. As a Guide, you will get the opportunity to communicate directly with guests, share information on the surrounding area while being outside and be a part of a great team here at Cycle Alaska!

 

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • First and foremost, upholding our tour mission; “We create great Memories for our guests”.
  • Ensure a safe, fun and timely tour
  • Dock rep for your tour, collect tickets and settle
  • Conduct tour talks while driving to locations and at viewing points along tour route
  • Distribute bikes, helmets, raingear and other gear as needed to guests
  • Guide guests on bikes through two different tour locations, each about 9 miles long
  • Engage with the guests and be attentive to their needs

Must be able to lift and unload bikes from a trailer, can ride a bike for nine miles and be a team player.
